My research focuses on applying landscape ecology to understand multitrophic interactions within ecosystems. I have conducted experiments at both laboratory and agroecosystem scales, studying key interactions such as plant-natural enemy-herbivore, plant-virus-vector, and plant-virus-vector-natural enemy. My approach is based on the theoretical framework of ecosystem services, particularly biological control, to assess how natural areas and agroecosystem influence arthropods and plant viruses. These studies aim to investigate the effects of land-use multifunctionality and the role of heterogeneous landscapes in enhancing ecosystem services. The goal is to contribute to the development of sustainable agroecosystems by promoting conservation biology and fostering biodiversity-friendly agricultural practices.
